AI labels by app
The app that saved your photo decides what metadata it carries, and that metadata decides whether Instagram, Facebook or TikTok shows an AI label. Each page below covers one app: what its own documentation says it writes into exports, which platforms react, and what ScrubPhoto can and cannot remove.
When an app's documentation is silent, the page says so. The quickest way to know for sure is to run your own export through the checker.
- Lightroom
Generative Remove in Lightroom can add Content Credentials that trigger AI labels. Check your export, then scrub it free with no upload and pixels identical.
- Photoshop
Photoshop attaches Content Credentials after Generative Fill and some removals. Scrub the JPG or PNG free in your browser, no upload, pixels identical.
- Samsung Galaxy AI
Galaxy AI edits get a visible watermark and, on the S25 series, Content Credentials. Remove the metadata free with no upload. The watermark stays.
- Google Pixel Magic Editor
Magic Editor writes IPTC and C2PA data that Instagram and TikTok read. Remove it free and lossless in your browser. The SynthID in Reimagine edits stays.
- iPhone Clean Up
Apple says photos edited with Apple Intelligence will get a hidden SynthID mark. Check what Clean Up left in your photo, then scrub EXIF free with no upload.
- Canva
See what your Canva download carries before you post, free and with no upload. Scrub non-AI designs losslessly. Canva's terms bar stripping C2PA from AI output.
- ChatGPT
ChatGPT images carry C2PA metadata and a SynthID watermark. See both, then remove the metadata free with no upload. The watermark stays, and we say so.
- Gemini
Gemini images carry SynthID, C2PA and often a visible mark. Remove the C2PA tag free with no upload. SynthID and any visible watermark stay in the pixels.
